【摘要】:Thisisafull-usestandard,arevisionofISO/IEC13213:1994;itsscopereflectsaccumulatedexperiencewiththeCSRarchitecturesinceitwasfirstpromulgatedasastandardin1991.Intheinterveningyears,twobusstandards,ScaleableCoherentInterface(SCI),IEEEStd1596-199x,andSerialBus,IEEEStd1394-1995,havebeenthesourceofmostpracticalimplementationexperience.TherevisedscopeoftheCSRarchitectureisgivenbelow:a)Theoverallarchitecturalframeworkpartitionsthetotalavailableaddressspaceintoequalspacesavailabletoindividualnodes.Anode'saddressspaceisinturnpartitionedintoregionswhichhavedifferentusagemodels,e.g.,memoryspace,privatespaceforvendoruses,configurationROMandanI/Ospace(unitsspace)wheretransactionsmayhavesideeffects;b)Aminimaltransactionset(read,writeandlockrequestsandtheirassociatedcompletionresponses)requiredforcompliantbusstandards.Busbridgescompliantwiththisarchitecture,whetherinahomogeneousorheterogeneousenvironment,arealsoexpectedtotransportthistransactionset;c)Fundamentalcontrolandstatusregisters(CSRs)aredefinedtoprovideacommoninfrastructureforallcompliantbuses.Insomecasesthedetailsoftheregistersareentirelybus-dependentbutthefunctioniscommontoallcompliantbuses;d)MessagerequestandresponseCSRsarespecifiedtoenabledirecteddeliveryorbroadcastofmessagestomultiplenodes.Themessageformatpermitsorganizationsorvendorstodefinethemeaningofthedatapayloadwithouttheneedforacentralizedregistryofallpossibleformats;ande)ConfigurationROMprovidesself-descriptivedatastructuresthatpermitnodestouniformlycharacterizethedeviceservicesavailable.Thisiscriticalforbusesthatpermitliveinsertionandremovalofnodes;eachnewlyinsertednodecontainssufficientinformationforittobeuniquelyidentifiedandfortherequisitedevicedriverstobeloaded.AlthoughtheoriginalCSRarchitectureanticipatedwidespreaddevelopmentofbridgesbetweenheterogeneousbusstandardsandadiversityofaddressingmodes,bothfixedandvariable,nosuchimplementationshavebeenmade.Asaconsequence,themostsignificantchangesinscopebetweentheearlierCSRarchitectureandthisstandardaretheadoptionofasingle,fixedaddressingmodelandtheremovaloftutorialmaterialpertainingtothedesignofbridges.
