【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthemassofparticulatecontaminationinamiddledistillatefuelbyfiltration.ThistestmethodissuitableforallNo.1andNo.2gradesinSpecificationsD396,D975,D2880andD3699andforgradesDMAandDMBinSpecificationD2069.ThistestmethodisnotsuitableforfuelswhoseflashpointasdeterminedbyTestMethodsD56,D93orD3828islessthan38C.Note1-Middledistillatefuelswithflashpointslessthan38Chavebeenignitedbydischargesofstaticelectricitywhenthefuelshavebeenfilteredthroughinadequatelybondedorgroundedmembranefiltersystems.SeeTestMethodsD2276andD5452formeansofdeterminingparticulatecontaminationinSpecificationD1655aviationturbinefuelsandothersimilaraviationfuels.SeeGuideD4865foramoredetaileddiscussionofstaticelectricityformationanddischarge.Theprecisionofthistestmethodisapplicabletoparticulatecontaminantlevelsbetween0to25g/mprovidedthat1Lsamplesareusedandthe1Lisfilteredcompletely.Higherlevelsofparticulatecontaminantcanbemeasured,butaresubjecttouncertainprecision.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
